Empires of Earth November Recap

Londinium, Empires of Earth (AP) As the month of November winds down to its final days, the Empire has had a lot of activity that has helped get the Empire flowing. The Empire has reached, and gone past, 20,000 posts and has had about 42 people on the forum at one time. Minister of Information bootskitten has taken a very active role in the Empire and has passed over 700 posts and has been at the helm of the Minster of Information for six weeks. The Empire has seen a lot of good nations come into the Empire and have become active, which includes Atlantis. His Majesty, Most Great Britannia, has been seen helping to recruit new nations all over and has been very busy helping other government officials in the other regions within the Empire. The Two Sicilies has been in the works with a new constitution being written. The Two Sicilies has passed 500 post this month and its membership has went from 32 to 64 and has gotten a new Minister of Immigration, Atlantis, who was appointed by his Majesty. The Two Sicilies has also gotten a new Leader, Lady Sarah, who has become the Duchess of the Two Sicilies, also appointed by his majesty. With all the exciting achievements the Empire of Earth's and its member regions has had in the month of November, it can be assured that there will be more great achievements in the month of December in the Empires of Earth and its member regions.

Past United Nations resolution- Unconventional Arms Accord

United Nations HQ (PN) Two United Nation resolutions ago, the United Nations was deciding on passing what they called the "Unconventional Arms Accord." The resolution said that it is wrong for the intentional harm of any citizens and vaguely defined what a citizen was. The resolution called for strict punishment to those that intentionally harmed their citizens. In the Empires of Earth there was a great dispute on the subject of the resolution. The majority ruled against the resolution, but left the opportunity for those who were for and against it to come and discuss the resolution and ways to make it better. It is a desire for some to see it re-written to also define clearly citizens. The Minister of Information and His Majesty would like to see some involvement to get it ready for proposal to the United Nations.

United Nations Fair Wage Convention

United Nations HQ (PN) Recently the United Nations passed a resolution on fair wages. It defined what a wage was and that every worker deserves a fair amount of wage. It also vaguely defined how often every worker shall be paid. It also has established an advisory committee for individual nations. Within the Empires of Earth, it should be noted that there was a lot of objection to the resolution. Members of the Empire claimed that the United Nations should stay out of such business and that the resolution was vaguley worded.

Minister of Information Reaches First Full Month

Londinium, Empires of Earth (AP) The Ministry of Information would like to congratulate Bootskitten who has recently completed his first offical month as Minister of Information for the Empires of Earth. When General BenjaminA resigned on October 15, 2006, His Majesty, Most Great Britannia announced Bootskitten as the new Minister of Information. When interviewed for this article, His Majesty jokingly said this about boots, "That stupid NY college punk? What is his name again?" Since Bootskitten assumed the role, he has since earned a great deal of respect across the Empire for doing an excellent job, even from those that were opposed to his appointment in the beginning. Bootskitten has written a short statement for this occasion. "I would like to thank everyone for their support during my first month as Minister of Information. I would also like to thank His Majesty, for helping me out greatly while I made the transition to the position. I expect great things in the next month and longer." Bootskitten has served the Empire loyally and has done a most superb job with being in charge of the Peunod Thymes, weekly and monthly census and the Empires newsblog.

Empires of Earth Reaches a Milestone

Londinium, Empires of Earth (AP) Today, the Empires of Earth has reached, as well passed, its 20,000th post. The Empires of Earth also had its highest number of online users at one time. To date, the Empire has over 20,070 posts, with an average of 65.97 posts per day. The Empire has over 1020 topics and to average it per day to date, it will come out to about 3.35 topics. The Empire has had a little over 208 registered users with about .68 of them online per day. When asked what he thought about the Empire reaching this important milestone, his Majesty, Most Great Britannia said this, "I feel it is an important day for the empire, and we are rising to greater heights." His Majesty is also very extremely pleased at reaching this milestone. The Minister of Information, Bootskitten is also very excited. "The Empire is moving in the right direction and I can't wait until I can make the 30 or 40,000th post." Lady FreedomvilleAT said that she is very proud of the Empires accomplishment. Fate Averruncus said that there will be a huge celebration planned and Eiskalte Engel said that the Empire thanks His Majesty, government officials and citizens for all of their hard work and dedication to make this a special occasion.

Lazarus Back in Action

Lazarus (AP)- The refounding region, Lazarus, is back in action it would seem. According to Frisbeeteria, a Moderator of NS, "The tasklist is functional once again. All Getting Help requests should return to the usual pattern." I noticed it wasn't working when various nations of mine were not being revived. I asked the NS Mods, and they said "The Getting Help Page was down completely for a few weeks, so any requests made, we didn't receive. There was information on it within the Moderation forum. Your nation has been revived." Hopefully everything is back and order, and nations that die shall be able to be revived. One can read more about there issue here on the NS forums.

Government Shift Up

Notice from the Royal Palace

Parliament, Londinium (AP)- In a wirlwind past few weeks, there has been the appointment of a new Minister of War, Minister of Information, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs has returned.
Sergeant Ghetto, otherwise known on the forum as VAC has been appointed Minister of War due to Sedarva's retirement months ago. Though the army fell into disrepair, it is slowly returning to a state of normalcy due to his hard work and diciplined leadership. He was granted the MoW coat of arms and made an Admin at the MoW forum.
Sir Neil Laumeyer, better known as Bootskitten, was appointed Minister of Information after General BenjaminA retired from the position. He has done more for the ministry in his short time here than all the other Ministers combined. The Empire dearly thanks him for his service. Sir Thomas de Burley of Fate Averruncus returned form an extended holiday in America and was granted a coat of arms once he began he Foreign Ministry duties again. In the empire, others were also appointed.

Minister of Information Celebrates 100th post!

Londinium, Empires of Earth (AP)-Today marks a very special day within the Empires of Earth's Ministry of Information. Today the Minister of Information, Bootskitten, celebrates his 100th post in the Empires of Earth's forum. Bootskitten wrote a public statement saying "It is a true honor for me to have reached my 100th post. I have been the Minister of Information for almost one month now, and to have reached this very special moment is a great honor indeed." Bootskitten started his first few days as Minister of Information with some concerns with some of the member Nations of Empires of Earth, which has since quieted down. When asked what he thought of Bootskitten's 100th post, His Majesty, Most Great Britannia said this "I am quite delighted. I can still remember the time when you had been on the forum for over 2 months and yet had only made 2 posts." It should also be noted that His Majesty has called Bootskitten "The best Minister of Information Yet." The Ministry of Information and His Majesty are very excited about this, and they look forward to another great month with having Bootskitten on board.

United Nations looking to Repeal Hearing Impaired Act

United Nations HQ (PN) Current members of the United Nations are debating to repeal or not repeal the Hearing Impaired Act. The act commends the Hearing Impaired Act, but it is trying to get a deaf people more rights than other people. The repeal states that this has been put into a previous resolution called Rights of the Disabled. That resolution covers a wider scope than the Hearing Impaired Act and makes this one target only the Hearing Impaired. the Majority of the members of Empires of Earth are strongly for the repeal of the Hearing Impaired Act

Peraguss Banished

On September 29th, one of the first 5 citizens of Empires of Earth was permanently banished to the rejected realms. This harsh action, one never undertaken before by the King was due to a vile attempt by Peraguss to sully the King's good name. According to His Majesty: "I, Monarch of Empires of Earth have put up with 9 months of dismal torture by a miserable person who goes by the name of Peraguss. His grievances include calling me fat (which I most certainly am not), taunting me, telling me things constantly such as "get a life," or "get a girlfriend," declaring that I am narrow minded because I am conservative, editing “homosexual” into one of my Wiki articles, constantly trying to bring me down, and constantly lying about me. This list can go on and on, but I want to get to the point. When he dared to edit my NSWiki again, it was too far. "
What exactly happened was Peraguss began editing Racist comments into His Majesty's NSWiki and then telling other people that MGB wrote it and was racist. According to His Majesty, "He made this addendum to part of my NSWiki and then went around claiming I was racist because of what he put in my Wiki:

The party dicourages interracial breeding, fearing that the "Britannic White
Race" would be over run and other races would take over the government. The
leaders of the party are completely single minded and have no regard for
political process. The more power they attain the more obvious of there zealotry
and the more aggressive thier supporters become.

Then on the forum Peraguss posted:

yeah I read your thing too MGB. and I have to say it is quite a bit racist,
especially when you talk about how you fear other races advancing over and
breeding out your "Britannic White Race" as you put it.

He new it was Peraguss because NSWiki logs every change made, and who makes it. One can see the original on the left, and the edited version on the right, click here for the evidence, the disgusting additions Peraguss made are in red. The IP address of the person that made those changes is 69.128.155.12 according to NSWiki. According to this forum, This is the IP address of Peraguss in his post declaring that MGB is racist

The IP address is the same, therefore it was Peraguss who made the changes and therefore I banned him and his puppet, The Separatist States from the region, and from the forum a bit later. His onslaught against me will I shan’t endure for a moment longer, and I am finished with that despicable character. He is now classified as an enemy of the empire," His Majesty declared in his official post. He also stated "These attacks he made were personally hurtful, however, as I am of "Mixed" decent technically myself. Further, they have damaged relations with a person whom I dearly enjoy the company of. If anyone ever discovers Peraguss or one of his minions within the confines of this empire, it is to be reported at once, and he is to be deported."

The Empire is Booming

Londinium, Empires of Earth (PN)- At a time when NationStates has gone under 100,000 nations- It was approximately 125,000 in January- The Empire is booming. New nations are flocking into Empires of Earth while some other regions are crumbling. Though his majesty has seen a decline in forum activity with Sajlamot, Freedomville, JPalliance, and now Bobbleria and others becoming inactive, he is still happy with the results.

Empire of Earth
Londinium, Empires of Earth (AP)- When His Majesty, King Dylan I of Most Great Britannia had to return to school the Empire was hit hard. Empires of Earth, which had reached a high of 265 was stagnating at 250 for a while before beginning a rapid spiral downwards. When he could, His Majesty would recruit, but it was simply not enough and could only keep the region around a steady 250. Eventually, however, the recruitment was simply not enough. Too many people were stricken with inactivity and the population rapidly fell. In only a week it had fallen to 209. Including the loss the 5 puppets Most Great Britannia has had in EoE since the founding (only Blocke Island, S Attleborough, and Liberalton remain). The Monarch was in panic. With cross country practice every day, more school work, and plagues of computer and laptop problems he could not find the time to recruit. Nevertheless, help arrived. Devoted, though new, citizens Carlos V (who was made Deputy Immigration Director), Excalibur5, Bobbleria, VAC, and others all helped out in the recruitment effort. The Empire rebounded from 209 to 270 in only a few days. Beyond that, the forum has almost reached 19,000 posts and 200 members, new ministers are being appointed and Dr. MaoShan (East Hylia) has gone up from 41 to 54 UN endorsements in just a day. A large congratulations to the delegate for his dedication and commitment to his duty. And to the rest of you, PLEASE ENDORSE EAST HYLIA!

The Two Sicilies
Naples, The Two Sicilies (AP)- As Empires of Earth declined into ruin, so did the kingdom of The Two Sicilies. Prince Unfettered retired due to real life woes and the region fell slowly from a high of 47 to 27. However, she soon prevailed. Lady Sara of Eirisle became active and sought out the UN Delegate position from the inactive Thamen. She obtained it and now has 4 endorsements. In terms of the forum, it has risen to 54 users, and almost 400 posts. It also underwent a major makeover by MGB who gave it a new skin and banner. Lastly, Eirisle, who is no only delegate but Minister of Immigration as well, helped bring the population up to 48!

Marlborough
Blenheim Palace, Marlborough (AP)- Out of the blue Marlborough, rose to have 8 nations, with no recruitment. On the day of the census Marlborough was also "region of the day," so various wanderers were in the region making her population 19. The day after it was once again at 8, and is currently at 7. They are mainly wandering people having a rest, so it does not have large affect on the empire. Marlborough has no government, nor any forum. No recruitment has been done for Marlborough. Sir Robert Trivette of Bobbleria, 1st duke of Marlborough was surprised upon hearing the news that Marlborough had obtained as high as 19 nations.

Wessex
Winchester, Wessex (AP)- The forum has undergone major renovations, and recruitment has begun. Wessex is currently at 8 nations, and the Sir Alexander Godwinson, Earl of Wessex has gone on vacation for the week. His majesty is happy thusfar, and hopes the progress shall continue when the earl returns. The Earl also has a UN endorsement from the first Viceroy of The Imperial Dominion, who is now a resident of Wessex.

The Shetland Islands
Scolloway Castle, TSI (AP)-After reaching 5 nations, The Shetland Islands are back at 3. His Majesty would like to see more recruitment from the Earl of Shetland and a more hard-line approach. More effort is needed for the colony's survival. However, His Majesty does commend Earl Morrison for his efforts thusfar.

The Imperial Dominion
Abandoned Hall, TID (AP)- The Empire's first major colony is officially abandoned. The King gave the order to evacuate to Wessex, and now only His Majesty remains in TID. It hit the king hard to examine the ruins of his first major imperial adventure, but he knew the abandonment had to come eventually.

Elsewhere
Regions such as Kent have had visitors, but no permanent residents. After 111 days of Imperial control, the king abandoned Calcutta for Hanover. Hanover was founded today in the name of the Empire by MGB X, Calcutta was given back to Great Britain and Ireland.

Minister of Information's first week

Minister of Information, Bootskitten, just finished his first official week as the Minister of Information here at Empires of Earth. There was opposition to his appointment here at Empires of Earth but since then, the opposition has quieted down. Bootskitten has kindly agreed to answer a few questions.

Interview with new Minister


Bootskitten, what did you think of your first official week as Minister of Information here at Empires of Earth?

Well, I have to honestly say that it was different. At first, I was scared of the opposition from the other nations here at Empires of Earth. As the week progressed however, I quickly became comfortable assuming the job. I am still learning the ropes of my new position, but I believe it will work out.

Who has helped your transition as Minister of Information and who do you turn to for advice?

laughs. his majesty MGB of course. He is very paitent and caring. He also has been helping me make the transition. I am proud to serve MGB here at Empires of Earth. Long Live His Majesty MGB.


Bootskitten, would you mind telling us a little more about yourself?

Why certainly. I attend college and have a fun and busy schedule, but i do still have time to help MGB out. I enjoy family life and I do enjoy reading and watching movies, in addition to being on the computer. Well I thank you for inviting me, but now I have to prepare for next week.

Once again, Bootskitten has completed his first official week as Minister of Information and while he is still learning his new office, he is very confident and he has our Wonderful leader, His Majesty MGB, to look up to for advice.

The Grand Alliance

Treaty of the Grand Alliance

Londinium, Empires of Earth (AP) The House of Lords is currently discussing a new treaty called the Treaty of the Grand Alliance. The Treaty of the Grand Alliance, or TGA as it is called, calls for all members to defend each other if one of the member regions are attacked. All members in the treaty are equal in all regards, and is only opened to regions that are ruled by Monarchies. Those regions who wish to join Treaty of the Grand Alliance will be decided by a vote by the current members, with each member getting one vote. The Treaty of theGrand Alliance is for defending member nations, and has no real desire to defend those regions not in the Treaty of the Grand Alliance. However, the members of the treaty are not encouraged nor are discouraged from helping to defend other regions from being attacked. In the event that a member is attacked, all members are expected to help defend that region, or if the region has been taken over, to regain that region back. Other than defending and maybe recruiting new members to the treaty, members don't really have to do a whole lot. In the event that the treaty of the Grand Alliance needs changing, a 4/5 majority vote must take place with each member getting one vote. Currently, Lucius Magnus Rex is looking to the Empires of Earth for approval and the House of Lords is undecided at the present time.
