Deputy Minister of Information Interviewed

Londinium, Empires of Earth (AP) I have had the wonderful pleasure to sit down with my Deputy Minister of Information and get to know him through our chatting and the interview. I was very impressed with the success of his first assignment and I knew I should interview him to help the Empire find out what makes him perfect for the job.

Bootskitten - How did you feel being appointed Deputy Minister of Information?

Aconderoga - I was glad that I was appointed. I love to write newspapers. In the Confederacy of Free Regions - COFR - I have my own newspaper, and it's a load of fun when writing it. I love journalism and I thought that I could help out here in Empires of Earth.

Bootskitten - Now that you have officially completed your first assignment, how do you feel about the position?

Aconderoga - I still enjoy being the Deputy Minister of Information. I like interviewing people, because I kinda feel like Larry King. Only I don't have 2,000 wives, I'm not 300 years old, I'm not a leftie, and I don't look like a chimpanzee.

Bootskitten - If there was something you could change in the Ministry of Information, what would it be and why?

Aconderoga - There's nothing that I would change at the moment.

Bootskitten - Name a couple things in Empires of Earth that Interest you and why do they interest you?

Aconderoga - Well, I love being in 'professional & successful regions'. Also, it doesn't take a lot of effort to get involved and participate here, which is great for newcomers. This region is not like Great Britain and Ireland, where you have to be a forum member for like a few months before people start listening to you.

Bootskitten - What is one quality that you find in Most Great Britannia that you admire and why do you admire that quality?

Aconderoga - Well, I admire his ability to 'own' his opponents in debates. He's very smart, and knows all the facts. I've seen him completley own the Commies over in the LKE.

Bootskitten - What are your goals as Deputy Minister of Information?

Aconderoga - As Deputy Minister of Information, I would like to do my best in helping you, the Minister of Information, any way I can. You seem to have a lot of work as MoInfo, and as a lover of journalism, I'd like to lend you a hand.

Bootskitten - Finally, What do you look for in asking for a position in a region?

Aconderoga - Hm. Well, when asking for a position in a region, I usually ask myself "Wait, am I going to be happy in this position?" and "Am I going to be a big help, or am I going to be the guy appointed just to fill the space?"

Deputy Minister of Immigration Interviewed

Londinium, Empires of Earth (AP) I had the pleasure to sit down and have a nice interview with the newly appointed Deputy Minister of Immigration TovostikosPrez.

Aconderoga - Where, and how did you hear about Empires of Earth? Were you recruited, or did you discover one of its glorious embassies in a foreign region?TovostikosPrez - I found it accidentally through a program called "Stumble". After a few days working on my country MGB sent me the recruitment letter....I was sold and here I am Aconderoga - How many times a week do you recruit? And when recruiting new nations via telegram, are you the type of person who looks at their United Nations ranking before you hit 'send'? When I was the Minister of Immigration in Americana, I tried to avoid the left-wingers. TovostikosPrez - I actually haven't recruited yet as I was nominated Saturday and I plan to start tomorrow (Monday). I plan to perhaps look at their country before inviting them, but I want to keep an open mind though. My policy will really be that I'll welcome anyone into our society until they give us reason for them to no longer be welcome. Aconderoga - Have you set any goals for yourself as Deputy Minister of Immigration?TovostikosPrez - I had expressed to MGB that I wanted to increase the population by 20% or so, but MGB's confidence in our recruitment success has made me re-think my goal to perhaps 35%-45% Aconderoga. Are you in any other regions in NationStates, or is Empires of Earth you first community?TovostikosPrez - Empires of Earth is and will be my first and only community. I firmly believe in keeping loyal to one country, but offering my support to other allied countries when needed. I think that if you're involved in many regions, your loyalties can become skewed easily. Aconderoga - Do you plan on running for Parliament, joining the army, or getting more involved in the government?TovostikosPrez - Most definitely. I have already set forth my campaign for Parliament, and I would be more than happy to serve in our military if our Military Commander asks it. I will always be available to thie region and it's citizens in whatever capacity needed.

Delegate Knifeking Ejected

Londinium, Empires of Earth (AP) In the Late hours of 24 June, 2007, The moderators of NationStates ejected Empires of Earth’s UN Delegate Knifeking from the United Nation, citing a violation of NationStates rules. It is a rule in NationStates that only one nation can be a United Nation member and according to the NationStates moderator, knifeking had a shockingly amount of six united nations. When asked how he felt about knifekings ejection from the United Nations and as Empires of Earth’s United Nations delegate, his majesty Most Great Britannia responded by saying “I feel it is an unfortunate event, but not one which we cannot over come and rise to greater heights in spite of.” When asked his opinion, Minister of Information bootskitten said “Its obviously very embarrassing and frustrating to this great region to have this happen to us. However, since it did happen, we all just have to move on the best we can. I have the upmost confidence in knifeking and I know he meant well, it was just that his number was called and he got caught. I am very confident that we will be able to overcome this “minor” setback and maintain our position has one of the greatest regions in the whole of NationStates.” In response to knifekings’s ejection, Most Great Britannia has appointed Sumoor as the interim Empires of Earth’s UN Delegate until the next round of elections are held.

Parliamentary Procedure Act

Parliament, Londinium, Empires of Earth (AP) Currently in Parliament, there is a legislative reform bill in the making to help change the way Legislation proposed is handled within both the House of Commons and House of Lords. In short, any Member of Parliament may propose a bill in either house, and non members of parliament can propose legislation in the court yard. There shall be two readings with one of it being the original copy of the legislation and one with the proposed amendments and one with a finalized copy. Then if it is passed, it will go to the House of Commons Speaker who shall present it to the Lord High Chancellor, who presents it to the House of Lords to vote on. Then the Lords and Ladies propose and vote in House of Lords, and if passes, Lord High Chancellor will present it to the speaker of the House of Commons who presents it to the Commoners to vote on. If legislation is proposed by a Citizen in the courtyard, it shall be discussed for a certain amount of time, it shall move to the House of Commons by the Speaker of the house who then presents it to the commoners to vote upon. It should also be noted that the legislation also put restrictions on who can post where. Those who are not Lords/Ladies are not allowed to post in the House of Lords, and those who are not commoners, can not post in House of Commons. Once the voting is completed in both houses, both the Lord High Chancellor and the Speaker of the House of Commons shall both sign it and Present it to the king in his private chambers, who shall either sign it into law or veto it.

House of Commons Elections soon

Londinium, Empires of Earth (AP) In another moment in Empires of Earth’s history, the House of Commons Elections are drawing nearer. His Majesty, Most Great Britannia, has officially opened up the campaigning in the Campaign Boulevard for one whole month from June 23, 2007. Then Elections would officially start on/after July 23, 2007. This past House of Commons activity started off very well, and then went to a very disappointing period of activity, which saw former commoner Bootskitten resign, and only activity towards the end was provided by Prince Anthony and Sir Wennal. When the next group of Commoners takes office, they will notice one slight difference in that Most Great Britannia will no longer tolerate the House of Commons being inactive. In the Empires of Earth’s constitution, it states that they must have to log in at least a minimum of once a week, unless otherwise noted with Most Great Britannia or Lord Atlantis and Prince Anthony. If a house of commoner now does not log in once a week, they will receive a warning, and if the commoner continues to not log in at least once a week after the warning, they, including the speaker, could be ejected from the House of Commons and will be replaced.

Shake up in Three Ministries

Londinium, Empires of Earth (AP)Starting yesterday, three of the many Ministries in Empires of Earth had begun a shake up in their personnel. The shake up included the dismissal of United Morrison and Aven Dale. "To increase activity on the Empires of Earth Forum, these dismissals were necessary to help the Empire grow." States Minister of Information Bootskitten. Two of the three positions that were available had become closed shortly after being opened.

Aconderoga and Wennal appointments

Londinium, Empires of Earth (AP)Ministers of Information and Foreign affairs Bootskitten and SenatorTC both shortly annouced after their respective deputy minister position became open, that Aconderoga and Wennal have been appointed as Deputy Minister of Information (Aconderoga) and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs (Wennal). "Both SenatorTC and myself were surprised that shortly after each of our Deputy positions opened, that we had people interested in the positions and glad that we were able to fill the positions very shortly after they had become vacant." States Bootskitten. SenatorTC and Bootskitten look forward to working with their respective deputies. Empires of Earth congratulates Aconderoga and Wennal on their appointments and wishes them all the best.

Aven Dale released from Foreign Affairs and Immigration

Londinium, Empires of Earth (AP)Empires of Earth's Foreign Affairs minister SenatorTC, in order to make sure that his department of Foreign Affairs is active, as terminated Aven Dale from his position as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. Aven Dale also has been, upon the return of Minister of Immigration Knifeking, terminated as the Deputy Minister of Immigration as well, oweing to the fact he has become inactive and his nation has died. Empires of Earth is sad to have seen Aven Dale, a prominent person, become inactive and die from inactivty.

United Morrison released

Londinium, Empires of Earth (AP)During Mid-day on June 16,2007, Minister of Information Bootskitten had officially terminated United Morrison from his position as the Deputy Minister of Information. In his statement, bootskitten said that Morrison's release was due to "unforseen circumstance" too which that Mr. Bootskitten will not release to the general public citing it as confidential between him and United Morrison. United Morrison was notified privately and a record of his dismissal had been copied and sent over to His Supreme Majesty, Most Great Britannia. "I regret to have dismissed Mr. Morrison from his position as Deputy Minister of Information, but in order to properly maintain the department of Ministry of Information, I had to do so to keep things proper." Stated Mr. Bootskitten. The Ministry of Information, Mr. Bootskitten, and the entire Empires of Earth wishes Mr. Morrison all the best on his future endeavors and to do what he wants.

Peunod Thymes Goes to the past

Minister of Information Bootskitten states that the template is temporarily out of place for the time being. Bootskitten also wanted to go back, in honor of his 8 month tenure as Minister of Information.

Empires of Earths Welcomes Old Citizens

Londinium, Empires of Earth (AP)In the month of May of the Year 2007, Empires of Earth's had seen the return of four of her older citizens. The Citizens that have returned, in order of their return are: Athanatos, Sedarva, Peakland View, now known as House of Walker, and Rock-On-A-Thon. Their returns have been greeted with warmest welcomes and greetings from all of Empires of Earth. Of those four, Athanatos and House of Walker have been the most active of the bunch. Welcome back to Empires of Earth Athanatos, Sedarva, House of Walker and Rock-On-A-Thon and we hope to see you all become more active.
